    Registered Nurse - Perinatal Nurse Educator

    MedTrust is hiring a Master's Prepared Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as the Perinatal Nurse Educator, providing direct nursing care to patients in the OB/GYN Clinic at SAMMC.

    Full-time government contract position.

    Clinic hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm at The San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). 

    This premier Army hospital and Level I Trauma center is the Defense Department's largest inpatient facility.

    Responsibilities

    Duties:

    Perinatal Nurse Educator will provide education to high risk OB patients. 

    Responsible for development, implementation, teaching and evaluation of material, coordinates and instructs the OB Orientation Classes, Pregnancy PT OB Education Classes given in the clinic on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

    Qualifications

    Must have a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program

    Valid Registered Nursing license from any US jurisdiction

    Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) from an American Heart Association program

    Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from an American Heart Association program

    1 year experience in similar setting within the past 3 years
