The Bone Marrow Transplant RN is to manage care of oncology patients through administration of chemotherapy, blood products, biologic therapy and cancer support therapies, administering/monitoring infusion of bone marrow and peripheral stem cells. Treatment is primarily provided to adult patients, although the unit does receive pediatric and overflow patients on occasion. RN must use strict neutropenic precautions on immuno-compromised patients who are receiving prophylactic antibiotic therapies. Manage multiple types of central catheters; PICCS, implanted ports, tunneled catheters and aphaeresis catheters.
As a MedTrust employee your duties and responsibilities will be the same as any other registered nurse on the same unit. Duties can include but are not limited to the following; team lead, charge nurse, precept, orientate, rapid response and other tasks as needed.
Must have Associate or Baccalaureate degree from an accredited nursing program
Valid Registered Nursing license from any US jurisdiction
BLS, ACLS Certification
Complete the ONS training provided at SAMMC/WHASC
*1 year Oncology or Bone Marrow Transplant experience and 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred*
