    Provide a full range of nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the credentials committee (e.g., completes comprehensive/psychiatric mental health assessments, diagnosis, short-term individual, couple, family and group psychotherapy and medication prescription as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and monitoring for acute and chronic psychiatric illnesses).



    Interviews patients and/or significant others to obtain and record clear, logical and concise psychiatric and health history. Performs physical assessment as indicated.


    Develops treatment plans that sets goals to meet identified mental health needs evaluates responses to intervention, reviews treatment plans and reevaluates as necessary according to applicable regulations.


    Must Have:



    • Master's degree in nursing.
    • Must be certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
    • Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).
    • Contractor personnel licensed, registered or certified by national/medical associations shall continue to meet the minimum standards for CME to remain current as prescribed in AFI 41-117, Medical Service Officer Education. CME shall be obtained at no additional cost to the Government and shall be reported to the CO and MTF Credentials Committee annually on the first normal duty day in January for the previous calendar year.
    • Contractor personnel shall be in good standing, and under no clinical restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held or has been held within the last 10 years. Contractor personnel shall maintain current certification in required training.
    • Contractor personnel shall be current with and have completed all continuing education requirements specified by their professional licensure or certification.
    • Basic Life Certification (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA)
