    Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) - Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA

     

    Multiple opportunities offering exceptional work-life balance for a Certified Nurse Midwife working both Labor Unit & OB/GYN outpatient clinic at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP)!

     

    No on-call requirements!

    • Full time / full scope
    • 8.5 hour shift at Clinic
    • 12.5 hour shift on Labor Unit

    Exceptional opportunity to work at Military Medical training facility.

    • Mentor new Residents & Lecture at Medical school
    • Collaborate with WHNPs and Lactation Consultants
    • Continuous training and monthly skills development meetings

    • Monitors for Deployed parents to witness birth
    • 7 bed OB Triage on Labor deck

    Responsibilities

    Outpatient clinic duties to include:

    • Preventative, annual and routine care
    • Weekly Centering Pregnancy classes
    • Contraception and STI care
    • Full OB/Gyn duties

    Inpatient Labor deck duties to include:

    • 7 Bed Triage on Labor Unit
    • Labor support in busy L&D Unit
    • First assist in c-sections

    Qualifications

    • Be a graduate of a Certified Nurse Midwife Education Program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives
    • Possess current unrestricted license in any US jurisdiction
    • Possess and maintain a current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board
