    Psychiatric Technician:

     

    MedTrust is currently accepting resumes for full time Psychiatric Technician or Psych LPN for the following clinics at Camp LeJeune, NC: Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP). In anticipation of an upcoming government contract award. 

     

    Typical operating hours of the clinics are as follows: 

    8.5hr shifts, M-F, between the hours of 0700 and 2000.

     

    The role of the Psychiatric Technician/LPN will assist in the care of outpatient clients performing assessments, facilitating recreational activities and observing patients behavior. Mental Health Technicians will work closely with Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.

    Responsibilities

    Psychiatric Technicians will assist in the following:

    • Intake interviews
    • Diagnosis of mental disorders
    • Risk assessment
    • Patient restraint
    • Recreational activities
    • Discharge planning
    • Perform administrative duties

    Qualifications

    Must Have:

    • Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Tech Program; or completion of an equivalent Edu. and experience that meets the requirements of the American Association of Psychiatric Techs. or  as a behavioral science specialist/tech in the US military and proof of completing an a Armed Forces course involving psychiatric tech. training or civ. course form an accredited school in behavioral health. 
    • Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice as an LVN/LPN in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands and current state or national certification in the subspecialty of Psychiatry, if an LPN is provided in lieu of a psychiatric technician.
    • current, unrestricted license to practice as an LVN/LPN and current state or national certification in the subspecialty of Psychiatry, if an LPN is provided in lieu of a psychiatric technician
    • 1 year full-time experience within the preceding 2 years as a Psychiatric Technician or LPN
    • BLS
