Psychologist opening in support of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) in Bethesda, Maryland caring for patients with traumatic brain injury.

 

Facility Services Link: NICoE

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours
  • No nights, weekends or federal holidays
  • No on-call

Pay Rate: $65.44 plus full benefits package!

Responsibilities

· Performs clinical duties within the psychology specialty, including individual/group psychotherapy and clinical interventions as well as rapid-focused assessments of newly diagnosed medical and clinical patients.

 

· Functions independently in completing evaluations, making complex diagnostic decisions and recommendations regarding medical patients, to an interdisciplinary medical team consisting of physicians, social workers, nursing staff, and others, regarding continuity of care and treatment compliance.

 

· Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.

· Provides consultation to health care providers from a wide range of specialties.

 

· Provides behavioral science interventions to a wide range of patients, referred for treatment.

 

· Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.

Qualifications

  • Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
  • Education/Certifications; Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology, postgraduate degree in an applicable Psychotherapy-intensive discipline
  • Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association
  • Psychologist license from any US jurisdiction
  • Demonstrable experience as a Psychotherapist
  • Basic Life Support Certification
